Ken and Leon Wood were set to retire to beautiful Sorrento after careers in business and Public Service.

Ken’s younger son became involved in viticulture on the Mornington Peninsula and convinced Leon and Ken that a small vineyard would be great retirement project.

Weeks were spent searching for a suitable site. Finally a perfect property came on the market on a Thursday and was purchased on Saturday.

Ken’s comment was that even if the vines were to die, it would still be the most beautiful place to live.

Both Ken and Leon had previously had an interest in wine and a desire to live on the land.

The following year was spent turning a cattle property into a working vineyard. This involved a lot of hard physical work and a huge learning curve.

Ken and Leon aim is to produce single vineyard wines of excellent quality and to market them at a realistic price.
